LDB continues efforts to roll out BC Cannabis Stores
The Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is continuing its efforts to roll out its network of BC Cannabis Stores across the province.
The LDB is committed to working with municipalities to understand and align with their bylaws and business requirements, and has submitted applications to a number of municipalities throughout the province.
To date, we have received municipal approval to open BC Cannabis Stores in Campbell River, Williams Lake, Cranbrook, Terrace, Salmon Arm and Fort St John. The City of Kamloops has also approved applications for two stores to be established in Kamloops, in addition to the BC Cannabis Store that opened in that community on October 17, 2018.
At this time the LDB cannot say when additional stores might open, as lease negotiations are ongoing for many of the sites. Once a lease has been signed, it can take up to seven months to develop the site to suit the LDB’s needs and complete the store fit out. Updates related to the opening of BC Cannabis Stores will be announced as details are finalized.
Each BC Cannabis Store will be designed to be bright, clean, welcoming and professional, while creating a safe and favourable alternative to purchasing non-medical cannabis from the illicit market.
Employment opportunities for BC Cannabis Stores will be posted at http://www.bcldb.com/about/careers as they become available.
All BC Cannabis Stores employees will receive extensive training concentrating on social responsibility practices related to safety and responsible adult use, comprehensive product knowledge and customer service skills.
BC Cannabis Stores online store ensures all British Columbians have access to a regulated, safe cannabis product, regardless of where they live in BC, via a safe and secure sales platform.
